Student Leadership University

Student Leadership University (SLU) starts out with a question.  What do you dream of?  In your wildest imagination, if you knew you couldn't fail, if you didn't have to worry about finances or age or any other limitation, what do you see yourself doing?  Now...what is standing between you and that dream?  The answer is leadership.

Dr. John Maxwell states, "Everything rises and falls on leadership, but knowing how to lead is only half the battle.  Understanding leadership and actually leading are two different qualities."

It is Student Leadership and Arran Lake Baptist Church's desire to help your student to develop their character from the inside out and to become the person that people passionately want to follow.  SLU is the most unique program of its kind on the planet.  Why?

 Listed below are the Arran Lake Baptist church's student requirements for attending SLU!

Saved and able to share their testimony!

(2)

    Actively involved in evangelism, service, church activities including Sunday School, J.A.M., SWAT and AWANA.

(3)

   Minimum attendance of 70% in any two of the four ministries listed above.

(4)

    They will participate in fund raising activities to offset the cost of SLU.

(5)

    Students will do well in public or home school classes, GPA of AB Honor Roll!

(6)

    Must exhibit an appropriate attitude, with parents and teachers.

(7)

   Be required to do a 500 word essay entitled, "Why Do I Want to Attend Student Leadership University"? 

(8)

   Limited to high school only, because of the intense lectures.  If you have completed the 8th grade and meet the above requirements, you may be eligible to attend the summer following your 8th grade year.

This does not mean these students are perfect all the time.  It means that they have a willingness to learn, be trainable and be passionate Christ followers.

No one will be turned away who meets or exceeds these requirements.
